The Client that Couldn't

Real Estate clients that cannot make a decision and continually deride their own situation as well as anything shown to them are stranger than fiction. They are a breed unto themselves and probably need to just keep renting for the rest of their lives because they are borderline incompetent to be a party to a real estate transaction.

When fear is the overriding emotion in every conversation, every showing and every idea presented, this type of client is the definition of the abyss. Who in their right mind would call their loan officer to get "permission" to write an offer?  The fearful client that couldn't would. This is also the  same person that must drive 5 mph under the speed limit, cannot drive on interstates, does not own a GPS and gets confused to the point of delirium when she notices your turn signal accidentally blinking the wrong way. The Client that couldn't then scolds you about changing lanes once to many times and her inability to make u-turns.

The difficult beyond belief client is unfortunately stricken with COPD , asthma and narcolepsy. It's amazing she can hold down a full time job let alone walk unaided. I almost lost it when she mentioned her narcolepsy and had to force back hysterical laughter. The COPD requires regular breathing treatments with an inhaler and the narcolepsy causes her to fall asleep at traffic lights. Having her follow you in her car is like pulling a 50 foot trailer with an invisible tether - no matter what you do, it will be the wrong decision.  The client is like a scared bird in a cage. Nervous and fearful with every word spoken, you try your best not to frighten her but your mere presence is a reason for her to become stressed out and mention, "...working with someone a little more local..." after showing her over 30 homes, two of which had contracts on them and were lost due to her inability to spend $80,000 after  being approved for up to $100,000.  She is more worried about 'affording the home in retirement... ' - 15 years from now - than getting into a home now.

She can't be near kids. She doesn't want to be near a school and has to be close to her work because of her inability to drive for more than 20 minutes at a time. She will not consider spending over 80K yet wants to buy a rehab  for 70K that needs 10-15K worth of work. She doesn't mind living in 'the hood' but not where sneakers are hanging on the wires, she told us that certain types of sneakers indicate certain drugs being sold.  Her favorite word is "hideous", which accurately describes the majority of the properties we show her.  I offered to buy her lunch and she insisted on water, afraid that I might have to buy her something and she would be indebted to me for the $5.69.  When shown a perfectly neat and well maintained home with the original owners smiling and happy to show her around, she remarks under her breath, " ..what about the roof...you never know what's lurking behind these walls..."  Her favorite tactic is to offer $10K less than list price and ask for $3-5K of seller concessions. This has not worked well for her and she does not have the ability to learn so she keeps repeating the same failed process.

The client that couldn't has let her fear paralyze her.  Speaking to her is akin to walking on egg shells barefoot surrounded by broken glass. She doesn't like to answer her phone and insists on texting making communication even more difficult. When asked about her work she responds, "..well, they cut everyone's hours and then cut them again..they are merging departments and giving us more responsibility for the same pay..." Talking with her feels like work. When she departs , your heart leaps for joy and you feel like a twelve year old that just got out of Sunday mass. It will be a relief when she finally realizes that owning a home is not for her and renting is her best option.

Proactive Synergism

The next time I hear the words "proactive" or "synergism" I will vomit upon the person speaking them. How about "I'll be 'reaching out' to you this afternoon..or "..I'll let you know when when I 'circle back', with so and so later. Circling back sounds like circling the wagons to defend from an Indian attack or circling back to go behind your back and stick the knife in... I definitely feel "push-back" towards these phrases which is another word used to soft peddle it's intent. "Push-back" means "NO" - or confrontation or does not compute. We have gotten to the point where a simple 'No' is offensive and it is now 'push-back'. How about using the words 'punch back', as in, I will 'punch- you- in- the -face- back', the next time I hear you mutter these nonsensical words to me.

Where is this language coming from? Do people just make up off hand generic phrase's like "reaching out" because they cannot comprehend the idea of speaking to someone? I am not looking forward to a 'reaching out' from you, (it sounds like a 'reach around'), and in no way want to be part of your 'circling back' with me. I prefer the conversation or a call. I am not offended or mystified when you say I will call you this afternoon. It does not bother me to hear the word "No." Please, do not attach any other meaning or underlying intent to your speech. It makes you sound like muzak in an elevator.

The changing of our language is part and parcel of the way in which people are communicating these days. Texting is great however when you are offended and truly caught off guard because you have to actually speak - you have gone to far into the new paradigm. "Text me" is the most common invitation to speak now a days. If you don't text them and mistakenly call, they are highly offended. It upsets them greatly that you have not acquiesced to their abstract communication method. How dare you want to actually speak to that individual! Who do you think you are? I have heard people say, "..I hide behind emails.." These individual could go for days without speaking to anyone. This is their little control mechanism to avoid the outside world. Maybe they should just hide away at home, safely ensconced behind their emails, why bother leaving the house?

Other vomitous sayings include "..at the end of the day.." and "...all things being equal". At the end of the day I am trying desperately to forget about my day so there is no need to rehash my day and include this statement as a break down of the day. If "all things were equal", there would really be no need to do anything now would there? The federal government came up with a genius statement - "Shelter in Place" - translation - lay there and wait to be shot in the head as the psychopath unloads his AR-15 into the crowd. How about "run like hell" or "try to take out the shooter" - I think that would go a lot further to end the bloodshed. Maybe the shooter was simply getting pushback from his employer, proactively circling the wagons to reach out at the end of the day in a synergistic manner via a text message, all things being equal.

Feeding the Zombies

People that wander into diners and order $8 menu items in 15

different ways are worthless zombies and need to be put into

asylums for the insane.  I see them stumbling in, mouths agape

eyes dull and unsure how to walk. It is as if they lose all motor

control skills when entering the restaurant. When seated, they

instantly transform into towering intellectual geniuses when

flipping through a menu. These geniuses have figured,

re-configured, deconstructed and thought long and hard about how

to change a simple order of an avocado chicken sandwich into a

never thought of before combination of items that have no

resemblance whatsoever to the item ordered. It is truly an amazing

transformation. The idiot savants have requested "extra thin

pancakes...well done..." In the normal world, those are known as

crepes. In zombie-land, it's an everyday occurrence. Their requests

resemble derivative algorithms of wall street analysts. The already

challenged waitress or waiter is equally confused as there are no

entry keys on the computer to translate their fantastical demands.

The ticket comes back to the kitchen looking

like an algebraic equation. My God man, the country is in an

economic depression and you, zombie , have all the time in the

world to figure out how to re-arrange a five item order into an

undecipherable codex for which there is no satisfactory result.

Damn you zombie. Damn you to hell you worthless, time wasting,

cheap, unable to satisfy, unkept looking dullard. Your $8 menu

item has blossomed into a full on inexcusable waste of time and

human energy. You are COSTING us money with your demands.

Our profit margin is now negative on your item.

Maybe the zombies are from competing establishments looking to

gain an advantage for their poorly attended restaurant during our

national economic time of woe. Times are hard and businesses are

looking for any advantage they can get. Other restaurants are fully

involved in this game of deception. They most likely send

electronic signals through the cell phone towers that activate nano

transceivers that have been ingested by the zombies to mobilize them

to stumble into competing establishments and wreak havoc on

their target. It has become a tired, predictable script. 10:35 on a

Monday night and here they come. Out of nowhere. Groups of 8,10

and 12 zombies at a time. Who amongst you, dear reader, can

assemble a party of 12 on a Monday night at 10:35 to straggle into

a diner and make peoples lives miserable with inane requests? I

dare say none of you. None of you have probably even considered

 this ludicrous notion.

If you have, you too have ingested a nano transceiver and

are under zombie control!  If you find yourself leaving your home,

either alone or with others, driving to a diner and ordering a meal

that consists of one egg, one piece of bacon and rye toast you have

already expended more energy than you will consume and you are

a zombie. If you then instruct the waitress to only bring you 'soft'

bacon and an egg 'poached very slightly' with a piece of burnt rye

toast, you, sir or madam are ready for the undertaker.  The zombie

translation of this order is - " I can't chew because I have no teeth.

Cooked eggs are also to difficult for me to eat because it is solid

food, I therefore need it as runny as possible. The burnt rye toast

provides an odor that wakes me up and counteracts my

narcolepsy."  Your life is over zombie.  I'm sorry, it is what it is and

you need to make arrangement for your relatives. Please relieve us

of your presence so we can attend to the world of the living.

We need a jamming device to interrupt the zombie signal on a

Monday night or a Wednesday afternoon. Customers should be

given a manual dexterity test that consists of being able to walk

without support and complete more than three words in a sentence,

(before being seated).  When complaints of "..not enough

handicapped parking spaces.." is heard, (after half of the parking lot

is designated 'handicapped'), that individual should be identified as

a zombie and barred from entering. When a customer turns a

mushroom swiss burger into a veggie patty extraordinaire with no

lettuce, tomato or onion, no bun and semi soft scrambled eggs, that

is a definite indicator of zombie activity and they should be

escorted out of the restaurant at once for bio hazard safety concerns.

Zombies are a public health menace and are in violation of all food

safety, traffic safety and welfare of the general public. When an

extremely elderly zombie leaves the restaurant at night, stumbling

and leaning on his partner  -

and (I swear to God I have seen this) - barely able to walk with dark

sunglasses on and gets into a Cadillac and drives the wrong way

around the parking lot, it is time to call law enforcement.  It is time

for a roundup of these people. They need to be forcibly relocated

to FEMA camps around the country for their personal safety and

for ours. Let them live out the last days of their blended stupor far

away from the rest of us. Let us have the peace of mind we so

desperately need in these bizarre times. Let the zombies live

amongst their own kind in government run encampments where

they can dream up a thousand ways to reconfigure an order of mash

potatoes and a chicken sandwich. Goodbye zombie.

Shelter in Place (2)

Bob Hampton couldn't believe it. All these years of hearing the 'conspiracy theorists' and their wacked out opinions seemed to be coming true. It couldn't be. Maybe it was a giant hoax or a drill. There's no way, Bob thought, that the country could be going through such a nightmare scenario. Other than the initial reports and the unending news coverage of the nuclear blast, everything else seemed to be working fine in his city and state. People still went to work, businesses were up and running albeit if they were not near the blast zone or directly dependent on it. The NFL was still playing games, life seemed to be going on as normal.

Bob and his wife were too busy working overtime to devote their attention to the event. Working a full time job as a Business Development Manager for a local IT company and part time as a Chef didn't give Bob time for much of anything. Bob's wife, Lana was as a realtor and also had a very hectic and unpredictable schedule. This gave very little time to pay attention to the ever present monotonous drone of news updates, political speeches and general fear and paranoia in the media. It was a horrific event, probably 10 times worse than 9-11 but it was in another state, hundreds of miles away, so there was a general disconnect from it. The event settled in their minds as another nagging worry to add to the unpaid internet bill and the overdue car payment.

Aside from the immediate everyday worries, this was the Big One. A tactical nuke was detonated on US soil. Initial reports estimated the death toll at 2500 - 3000 people. The blast radius was 25 miles from center and the mushroom cloud could be seen from 100 miles away. The detonation occurred just southeast of Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston was all but wiped out. It has been speculated that the secret nuke transfer that occurred in the months preceding the blast was the precursor to the event. The head of nuclear security and several generals were fired during this time and there were reports of nukes being illegally transferred out of Texas and taken to South Carolina. The alternative media picked up on it however the corporately owned press largely ignored the story. One such general, a recipient of the Medal of Honor, has now gone on record in speaking with the  news organization WND about the mass culling of high level military officers on behalf of the Obama administration. Retired Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady says that the attack on high level military personnel is so great that it has now obliterated the morale of troops at large, but is more importantly centered in terminating any high level individual that will not go along with the plan. If the nuke transfer was the reason for the blast, then it seemed it would have been a home grown domestic attack, not one initiated from an international terrorist cell.

Motives for the attack were unknown however the federal government propaganda machine was working overtime to pin it on Syrian rebels or other convenient terrorist groups that operated in countries the US wanted to invade. Iran was brought up repeatedly and the administration seemed to be positioning themselves to use the crises in their best interest. Bob thought to himself,...how could a group outside of the US attack us with our own nuclear devices? He had read about 'False Flag' events and was familiar with them however an attack of this magnitude was incomprehensible. A false flag was when a government initiates an attack on itself to forward an agenda. Create a problem , react to it, then insert your 'solution'. Problem, Reaction, Solution. Bob knew about the Gulf of Tonkin and the false flag that took us to war in Vietnam as well as the sinking of the Lusitania by US forces that started World War I but this seemed to be beyond the pale. He thought there was a grain of truth to 9-11 being an inside job after reading the engineering evidence attesting to it but the event came and went and like everyone else, his focus was on staying employed and making the mortgage payment to really study it. Bob believed he had the international banking cartels to thank for the survival mode mentality he had to adopt after they essentially gutted the US economy with the mortgage debacle in 2008-09. He never got bailed out, just threatened with foreclosure, repossession and bankruptcy. Maybe this was a false flag after all. If it was, the question was why. To what end?

Bob's wife Lana. mentioned to Bob the ever present  news coverage of militarized police throughout the country performing raids, knock and talks and street sweeps. The recent Boston Bombings were an exercise in martial law that was completely overblown in Lana's mind. Lana studied law in college and knew the rights of citizens with regard to police actions. Lana remarked to Bob her concerns in regards to the loss of the Posse Comitatus law in the United States, which says that the military cannot be utilized as a policing force. Lana saw the militarization of all police across the country and learned that all police departments were being given military equipment via the Department of Homeland Security. LRAD, (Long Range Acoustical Devices), anti personnel carriers, black riot gear uniforms and all manner of military grade weaponry that  were now the stock and trade of your local police force. Lana believed that the militarization of local police departments was a violation of Posse Comitatus and it seemed to be happening everywhere. In regards to the Pose Comitatus law  and the use of the Army and the Air force,

Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

The Posse Comitatus Act was essentially destroyed with the National Defense Authorization Act which gives the federal government the power to detain anyone under martial law ..."A person who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces."                        This revision applies to anyone they want it to apply to, in direct violation of the Pose Comitatus Act.

Bob understood this and saw other signs of an encroaching tyranny in the country. NSA spying, socialized healthcare with mandated penalties and the Fast and Furious debacle proving federal government involvement with gun running all gave credence to a major false flag event in the United States. Tied the the Fast and Furious scandal was the convistion of Wachovia Bank in Federal Court for laundering millions of dollars on behalf of Mexian Drug Cartels.  But once again, why and to what end?

The answer to this question hit Bob like a bolt of lightning when he checked his mail upon arriving home from work.  The mail was from what looked like the IRS, causing Bob's heart to begin racing immediately. He was sure they double checked their Turbo Tax Business Edition last year, what could be the problem now? Opening the generic faced, government envelope a 5 page official looking audit like letter appeared with the senders name and address as The Department of Homeland Security. Once again, Bob couldn't believe the content of the letter and had to read each paragraph twice to begin to realize its full scope and the life changing system he and Lana were now a part of. Curiously , on the way home from work, Bob noticed more than a few of his neighbors hurriedly getting into their cars and accelerating down his street. He attributed it to a typical Friday afternoon and the disaster that happened in South Carolina. Everyone was on edge but nowhere near the edginess people felt after reading their letter. Bob called Lana to the kitchen table and they both read the letter in an increasingly uncomfortable silence.   The letter said:

The Federal Government has issued warnings to stay in your home during this time of our greatest national crises. Report to your local Wal Mart to be identified and issued your mandatory microchip food and identification bracelet. Please fill out your New Citizen Identification papers and keep the yellow copies for your records. You will need to present these New Civilian Identification papers for travel during daytime or night. Civilians not carrying these papers will be detained until further notice. The standing order is to stay in your homes until otherwise notified. The National Guard will be patrolling the streets for your safety.

Your local Wal Mart will be working with the military and your  Regional FEMA Threat Fusion Center. Please inform the authorities as to surviving family members and inoculation status. Do not drink untreated water. The FEMA relocation buses will be leaving twice daily to help in relocation efforts to the temporary housing facilities. These facilities are not "camps", simply temporary family housing to help with food, shelter and safety. Re-education of civilians to know their roles in our post crises world will commence in these facilities. Your local Wal Mart will also have the mandatory Civilian Inoculation Program in place. The CIP is there to protect you and your family from potential bio terrorism. Inoculations are mandatory to receive your biometric food ID bracelet and New Civilian Identification Papers.

The blast radius of the nuclear event is 25 miles, the radiation from the blast extends 200 miles from the event. The prevailing weather patterns will take the radioactive fallout over two thirds of the country, presenting possible radioactive contamination to over 200 million civilians in the United States. Martial Law is in place for the entire country. New FEMA facilities are being brought on line to help with relocation efforts for the majority of the population. Your local schools will serve as temporary FEMA re-location centers as well as Wal Mart. A travel ban has been issued. All interstates are to be used for military personnel only. Local travel will be permitted during daylight hours however restricted with roadblocks and checkpoints. Failure to present proper Civilian Identification Papers at these checkpoints will result in transfer to Suspected Criminal Activity, (SCA), facilities.

The Bill of Rights and Constitution have been suspended indefinitely.  Our president has enacted Executive Orders to continue his tenure indefinitely. Congress and the Senate are now being used as administrative and surveillance arms of our nation. They will administer and oversee the enforcement of the Department of Homeland Security and the TSA.  All civilians must now comply with home visits also known as 'knock and talks' from the Department of Homeland Security and local authorities to make sure survivors are safe. Failure to comply will result in immediate transfer to an SCA facility. All civilians must confirm GPS coordinates of their home, apartment or property with the United States Postal Service within 30 days or face possible SCA action.  The postal service will deliver mail once per week to those not relocated. The TSA has been activated within your local community and are here to help. TSA officers are the primary authority and contact between civilians and the military.

Work efforts for all able bodied men and women will be administered through the Homeland Work Brigade, or HWB. These efforts will be necessary to  help in the restoration of our nation. All civilians between ages 18-60 must report to your local TSA HWB.  Failure to do so will result in transfer to the nearest SCA facility. Civilians will be involved in security for disaffected individuals, surveillance, helping with civilian transfer to FEMA facilities and infrastructure support. Initial efforts of the HWB will focus on roadblocks, checkpoints and food and water safety. All airlines are shut down until further notice. The Federal Government has nationalized all oil, gas and transportation. The Dept of Homeland Security and the TSA will assume roles within these industries and use them for the benefit of the nation.

It is estimated that 200 million people will be relocated to FEMA facilities within the first six months of the disaster. The elderly, welfare recipients, disabled, homeless, food stamp recipients, most social security recipients and others deemed as relocation worthy will be relocated to FEMA facilities. These individuals will go through psychological testing and placement services upon their arrival.  Most of them will be employed in the maintenance of the FEMA facilities, others will be deemed as 'non essential' and will re-assigned along with non cooperatives to alternative facilities that better meet their needs.

The remaining 100 million people in the country will be surveilled for their safety via aerial drones, RFID/DNA based ID chips and Civilian Identification Papers. Their travels to and from their homes and businesses will be monitored and analyzed for their safety. Incentives will be given to civilians who actively monitor their neighbors and and their neighborhoods for illegal activity. The TSA is sending high definition cameras and instant streaming capability to all persons requesting it. Compensation will be incident based and available on line through the restricted internet. The internet as we know it is now shut down. All internet activity will be restricted and monitored. Applications are being accepted through the TSA for exemptions to go on line for one hour per day to be kept informed of the on going crises. Email is allowed however monitored and controlled.

The plan to secure America and get through this national crises is now in effect. The Department of Homeland Security, TSA and the military are all working together to help the nation get through this crises and restore order as soon as possible. Keeping America safe is the goal. Millions of displaced Americans must complete a Civilian Re-education Curriculum, (CRC), to be able to be assimilated in the proper manner. This will be necessary for the safety and protection of the State. We urge cooperation and understanding in this effort. Please report to the authorities immediately.

All currency, gold, silver and firearms must be turned into the TSA. This is for the prevention of rioting amongst the populace.  Penalties for possession of these items include SCA detainment and re-education center relocation. There is a General Seizure Order, (GSO), in effect for these items. A new currency will be issued in the coming months which will be controlled through a nationalized banking system. The currency will be paperless and linked to your bio metric food and identification bracelet. Credits will be issued to those not held in re-education facilities. Your new currency credits will be apportioned according to daily caloric intake of food for your family. Clothing and shelter needs parameters will be  designated by your local authorities. Credits can be earned through approved participation within the Homeland Work Brigade, are not transferable and can be re-estimated at any time according to Civilian Law.

All citizens receiving food assistance and not in FEMA facilites will be subject to regular screening to ensure the health and safety of the populace. You will report to your local FEMA clinic for blood and urine screening on a bi monthly basis. Failure to report will result in transfer to a re-education facility. Any substances found in a civilians health screen not approved for use can result in transfer to a re-education facility. Civilians will be compensated with additional credits that inform the authorities in regards to other civilians disregard or falsification of their health screening results. These patriotic individuals will then have an opportunity to move into management roles for the HWB, SCA or TSA.

Unfortunately, the death penalty for all offenses deemed as egregious has been made law nationwide. The Federal Government has decided on a more humane way of dispensing with treason through the use of guillotines. Thousands of guillotines have been purchased and distributed through out the nation. Hundreds of thousands of three person hard plastic coffins have also been distributed to help with the sanitation and safety of the deceased. Work brigades are being utilized to help in the accommodation of deceased civilians. Excavation sights will be used for disposal of the deceased. The magnitude of the disaster has warranted a 24/7 deceased civilian burial effort and will employ thousands of HWB personnel.

Aerial spraying of anti contaminant compounds will commence on a 24/7 basis. Civilians are urged to not concern themselves with the aerial spraying, it is for your safety. Most major cities and urban centers will experience aerial decontamination spraying. A small percentage of the population will become ill from the spraying and will have to be placed in a containment facility within a FEMA compound. These civilians will be given comfort and care to help them adjust to the anti contaminate compounds. Medications will be issued to civilians to help in their adjustment phase. All civilians will have access to anti depressant and anxiety medication during the crises. The medications will be free for the first six months, then deducted form your earned credits after the trial period. All civilians are encouraged to take at least three anti depressant and anti anxiety medications from their local authorities. Pharmaceutical companies are helping in this effort and assure the safety and purity of all medications dispensed.

Since most food grown and harvested within the former United States will be contaminated, genetically modified food will be the only legally distributed food throughout the country. Possession of Non GMO food will require a permit or be punishable by transfer to an SCA or FEMA facility.  Pre- packaged, GMO food is the safest alternative during this time of crises. Food controls are in place and food will only be distributed through the TSA and the military. Private gardens are illegal wihtout a permit. All farms, nurseries and private gardeners must report to authorities the substance and nature of their gardens. Since food is the most important life giving force, failure to abide by national food policies is a treasonous event and will result in transfer to a FEMA facility.

We are in trying times and the above efforts will help in the re-building of our nation. Counselors are available to help in the transition. Government band cell phones are being sent to all residents not relocated. Please call 911 as soon as you get the phones to let us help you with all your concerns.

Bob and Lana's cell phones both rang at the same time. They heard the squealing of tires and shouting down the street from their house.  Lana teared up and hugged Bob, both of them in a state of total shock. It was information overload and impossible to process all at once. Relatives called and expressed their fear, anger and bewilderment about what to do. This was it. This was the event those crazy conspiracy theorists have been talking about for the last 20 years. Although it was worse than they predicted..much worse. Bob and Lana knew that probably three fourths of the people receiving this letter would rush to Wal Mart and comply with the governments requests immediately. Bob also knew that probably half his friends, (the ones that were armed and ready and knew how to hunt and fish), would have nothing to do with this scheme and thought to contact them immediately before the cell towers were put out of service. Everyone knew yet couldn't figure out why the Dept. of Homeland Security purchased 1.6 billion rounds of hollow point ammunition, then acquired another 200 million rounds a month later. Maybe this was why. Bob and Lana knew they had to settle down and think clearly. They both realized that the government was not here to help. Lana remarked,"Bob, what are we going to do...?" Bob replied. "We'll figure it our, the last I want us to do is to blindly follow the new criminal cabal that seems to have taken over our federal government." I'm worried about my sister Amy and her son. I spoke to her this morning and she was headed to Wal Mart with Jake to get her CIP registration. She's 4 months behind on her mortgage and would probably end up going to one of the FEMA facilities. I haven't been able to reach her since last Friday."

Like every other government initiative, this one would take at last a month or two to be fully operational. Bob and Lana figured they had a good 30 days to come up with a plan and stay out of the clutches of the new American Stasi State that was being erected around them. There were initial reports of roadblocks and checkpoints being set up however their progress was slow and largely resisted by a growing number of the traveling public. Bob contacted several of his close friends that were of the same mindset but they were no help. Everyone was on their own and either rushing to comply with the letter or secretly planning an escape from the system. Internet access was being restricted and a lot of search engine capability and websites were slowly being taken down and phased out. Time was of the essence to figure out a place to go, gather the means to get there and prepare oneself to not look back. Lana was thankful her children were grown and would be able to fend for themselves if need be. She contacted each of them quickly after several listening to "all lines are busy" recordings and told each of them to make their way to the farm as soon as possible.  Their plan centered around getting to the 10 acres of land they owned, inviting the kids and their families and hunkering down into a self sustainable lifestyle. The acreagage had a small house on it with a double wide trailer home and was livable. It seemed like a no brainer at first however after watching the live reports of looting, arrests and police state action, their plan seemed to be more of an Escape from New York, Mad Max scenario.

Bob and Lana's reasoning was that if they could make it to their 10 acres, they could be at least 100 miles from any city, basically in the woods of North Florida. They sumised that the government would not have the time nor the concern to harass people outside of the cities and grid checkpoints. They would be busy with the congested urban environments and neighborhoods. DHS would be protecting high value targets like banks, retail locations and interstates. Being nowhere near these areas would increase the likelihood of staying off their radar and maintaining some degree of freedom. The plan to relocate up to 200 million people was nothing more than a eugenics scheme to depopulate the country. Buying into it would be tantamount to willfully entering a penitentiary in the least or in the worst, committing suicide.  Bob revised his notion of 30 days down to 7, just to be on the safe side.

The TSA shooting in Los Angeles precipitated the arming of TSA agents nationwide. The militarization of federal police officers became law in the former United States. This development helped the federal government enforce their new tactics and methods reflected in the recent DHS letter. Bob realized this and all the pieces began to fall together for him. The alleged war on terrorism was for us, the citizenry, not terrorist cells. We were the enemy all along. NSA spying and recording every keystroke from your computer, every phone call, 30,000 drones set to fly over US airpsace in 2015 and an increasingly violent, hair trigger, federalized police force were all evidence of the tyranny. SWAT team raids for delinquent student loans and minor offenses resulting in deaths of innocent homeowners also testified to the criminality of the federal government. Lana had wondered why she kept seeing blue helmeted, UN police in the news and working with the Dept. of Homeland Security. She knew about Agenda 21 which was opposed in the mainstream  political theatre. The Republican National Committee adopted a resolution opposing Agenda 21, and the Republican Party platform stated that "We strongly reject the U.N. Agenda 21 as erosive of American sovereignty.."  Agenda 21 is Sustainable Development, and was created through the United Nations. It is the blueprint for depopulation and total control, under the banner of saving the environment.  It is like the head of a beast that has thousands of tentacles, originating from the United Nations. It definitely fit  the modus operandi of the federal government after the nuclear detonation in South Carolina. The 10 acre ranch looked more appealing by the minute.

Jim Denson was able to retired at age 62 and felt pretty secure about his hedge fund holdings and overall portfolio. His broker of 32 years, Dave McNeil, was good at what he did and helped Jim amass a small fortune over the last 37 years. Dave was sharp, he was able to forsee the collapse of 2008-09 before it happened and not only protected Jim's portfolio but helped it grow through shrewd and timely bond fund fund maneuvers and international growth opportunities. Jim felt secure about his financial future and so did his wife of 36 years, Rosalie. They were in the midst of planning a 45 day worldwide cruise when the national nightmare unfolded.

Jim read his letter and had the same flushing panic reaction as everyone else in the country. His immediate concern was for his grandchildren. He tried calling them but couldn't get through. Next, he thought of his near future and what he and his wife should do. The letter said that all he had to do was report in and register at the local Wal Mart and everything would be OK. After all, it was a national emergency from a terrorist disaster. Maybe they could get it done quickly and still go on their vacation after all. Jim trusted and believed in the governments reaction to the horrific events that unfolded and thought that if he had nothing to hide, then he had no worries. After all, he wasn't a terrorist and had successfully participated in this great country for the last 50 years.

Dave called Jim the next morning and seemed agitated. Jim never heard such a waiver in Dave's voice before. He began to tell Jim about upcoming bank holidays and a possible revision of the nations currency. Jim listened intently to Dave as he explained that the crises in South Carolina caused a complete fallout for the 'petro dollar' which was the globally accepted currency for petroleum transactions with Saudi Arabia. Countries such as Russia, China Iran and Saudi Arabia were now using Euros, Dinars and baskets of currency called "SDR's' or Sovereign Drawing Rights  for petroleum transactions across the globe and with Saudi Arabia. This caused an immediate, overnight crash of the dollar on the world exchange that went largely unreported in the corporately owned press in the United States. Jims anger began to rise. He remarked"..what are you trying to tell me Dave, my $2.2 million dollar portfolio is now worthless...?" Dave said ," No, Jim, just devalued, probably by as much as 50%"
Jim fired back "Dave, this is impossible, not to mention illegal, do something about it NOW..!"Dave told Jim that he is leaving the country tonight, boarding a plane for Belize but he will be in touch. Since Jim knew Dave for over 30 years and was a personal friend he asked him where in he would be  before the busy signal came over the phone and the call was disconnected. No luck calling Dave back, all circuits busy.

Jim and Rosalies Strategy was to go along to get along then get out of the country. They both went to their local Wal Mart to be identified and issued their Civilian Identification Papers. The lines were unbearably long and armed TSA agents seemed to be not letting people out of line once they were in. Rosalie mentioned to Jim that maybe they shouldn't have came down here and Jim reminded her that it was necessary in this time of unprecedented national disaster. Rosalie noticed that a lot of the TSA agents and Dept of Homeland personnel were having difficulty speaking English and looked and acted rather foreign. Jim told her not to worry, they are simply here to protect us from the terrorists. When they finally got to the front of the line, there was a small table with two nurses and a doctor with what looked like the inoculation program mentioned in the letter. The procedure was to take the two shots, have your retina scanned, give a DNA sample and be fingerprinted. There were 20 additional "ID stations" set up behind the barrier at the front of the line and people were being routed to them. The process had an edge of humiliation to it and didn't feel right with all the foreigners involved however Jim and Rosalie went along to get along and complied. They both received their microchipped ID food bracelets, their CIP papers and a stern warning from what seemed like the only American at the site to,"Go directly home and wait for your government band cell phones to arrive in the mail..." "Okay", Jim said, "..and thank you for your service..". Strangely, the commanding officer just sneered at them and said nothing. Rosalie remarked, "How rude of that man.." Everywhere Jim and Rosalie looked, there were crowds of people at banks, gas stations and grocery stores. It seemed as though bedlam was right around the corner. They were able to get gas and withdrawal $500 from three different ATM's however that was the extent of the cash they could get their hands on.

The thought of leaving the country began to take hold in Jim's mind. He could do it, easily. He and Rosalie had the money, even after the recent news from Dave. The problem wasn't being able to get a flight. Every flight going anywhere was either booked or unavailable. It was as if everyone immediately tried to fly somewhere after receipt of their letter. the only solution was to fly privately, which Jim was able to do. The problem was that he couldn't reach his pilot, which meant he might have to fly himself.  Jim was certified to fly dual engine prop's and co-owned one with his brother in law. Although the letter stated a nationalization of all airlines, it could not happen overnight. timelines were anywhere from 30 - 120 days, according to airline insiders. Buying property in Belize had been a long term goal of Jim and Rosalie. They did a fair amount of research and communicated with several realtors in the newly hailed South American getaway. Jim planned on going to Belize when they got back from their cruise to scope out the area and find a suitable vacation home near the water. Since the cruise was definitely off, the idea of Belize began to take hold in Jim's mind.

The inoculations received by Jim and Rosalie left a strange red, tattoo like mark on the inside of their arms which looked like a bar code of some sort. It was small, about a quarter of an inch and barely noticebale but it was there. As it healed , the shot mark faded but was still present. Thinking back on it, Jim did notice several CIP employees presenting their inside arm to be scanned for them to enter into secured areas. Oh well, Jim thought, maybe its for our safety, after all, if you have nothing to hide, why worry about it? Now that they both complied, maybe they would be left alone to gracefully exit the country...

Collecting everything that Bob and Lana thought they might need for their trip to their off grid property was overwhelming. Clothes, batteries, blankets, camping gear were all on the list as well as their shotgun, rifle and the rest of the ammunition they had. Realizing that they would probably never be coming back it was like grabbing all you can and beating a hasty retreat before an impending hurricane.  Bob decided to utilize one of their two vehicles and leave the other one.  They would also leave the lights on and a TV running to keep up appearances for as long as possible. The decision to take the minivan would give them more storage space. Not waiting 30 days and to get on the road as soon as possible proved to be the right move. Postal workers were beginning to perform knock and talks throughout the nieghborhood. They smiled, greeted you and asked you to fill out a "Basic Inventory of Household Census From." the three page form looked innocent enough however a lot of the questions were downright intrusive. Queries such as "Do you own any firearms and if so, what type and where are they stored?" ."...Has anyone in the home been diagnosed or treated for depression or any other mental illness..? "..Are there any veterans living in the household?" Bob greeted the friendly local letter carrier at the door and told him that with the ongoing confusion, please leave the form and we'll get it back to you in a few days. Their 7 days just shrunk to 3. "No problem.." , the postal worker replied, "..I'll see you then.." 3 days just became 24 hours.

The Kia Sedona van was full loaded and ready to go. Lana made sure that everything they were carrying was covered in blankets and sheets to not attract any unwanted attention.  Traveling without CIP doc's might prove to be challenging, Bob thought but it was still early in the crises and people had to get home if they were on the road. The beginnings of permanent roadblocks could be seen unfolding at most major intersections and interstate off ramps. The only active checkpoints and roadblocks were near airports and government buildings, none of which concerned Bob and Lana. traffic was steadily building and the price of gasoline was creeping up over $4.29 per gallon. Lana had over $400 in cash at the house and they were able to access two ATM's and withdrawal $1,800. Lana also brought all her gold jewelry as well as Bob's for future barter if necessary. It wasn't a lot but it was enough to get them where they were going. The traffic seemed more edgy than normal. People were cutting other people off and leaving the scene of accidents. There were police everywhere. Lana saw a fist fight erupt on the median of the interstate, Bob told her to not look at it and focus on the road ahead.  Several interstate exits were closed so Bob decided to take the older State highways to their property. Most gas stations were closed and they felt fortunate they they gassed up earlier and had an extra 10 gallons hidden beneath the blankets in the van.The trip was only 150 miles but it seemed like an eternity. Normally it would have taken a couple of hours however this time it took four. Slow moving traffic everywhere, road closures and simmering, hostile fellow drivers resulted in a painstaking journey.

Along the way, Bob noticed what looked like voluntary submissions of identification and submission to authorities at closed exit ramps and other future checkpoint stops. The whole scheme was surreal and slowly gaining in momentum. It seemed as though you still had a choice as to submit to the authorities checkpoint drama or not and a lot of people were submitting. Lana saw several of them offer up there inside left arm to hand held scanners and wondered what that was all about. She didn't want to know. The closer they got to their off grid property the more secure they felt after seeing the rising bedlam on the road. Their comfort was shattered suddenly at a highway exit with a stop sign. Bob and Lana jumped when they heard the loud thump on the right side of the van. At first, they though it was a tire exploding, then Lana saw the two hulking figures on the drivers side of the van.  Bob reacted swiftly , unlocked his door leaned toward Lana on his back and double kicked the open door which sent one of the hulking masses flying into the street. The next one went for Lana's door, Bob slammed his door shut, turned hard right and knocked the other one out of the way with the sudden acceleration of the van. Bob wanted to slam it into reverse and run him over but thought better of it and punched the accelerator to get out of there. Looking in the rear view, both attackers were lying in the street. There was no question now, surrealism aside, this was for real. Bob and Lana felt in their gut for the first time. Their awareness was heightened, evidenced through a deafening silence after their first wake up call.

Lana's sister, Amy was able to call Lana and inform her that Jake and herself voluntarily entered a FEMA Re-Education Center with promises of free health care and occupational training free of charge. Amy told Lana that it really didn't seem that bad, they had a 2 bedroom, 600 square foot apartment -like residence within the facility and Jake was making new friends with other detainees. A lot of Amy's friends were there too. Amy did feel it was a little intrusive to be arm scanned every day and to have her and Jakes caloric intake of food monitored and controlled. Also, the cameras within the residence didn't seem needed. Why were they watching us 24/7 ?, thought Amy. Oh well, it was either this or possible foreclosure and homelessness. Amy's job had recently reduced her hours to the new full time of 30 hrs per week, making a difficult situation even worse. She had worked at Publix for five years and along with most other long term employes was being treated like a new hire. Her deadbeat husband was in jail for Grand Theft Auto so there was no support coming from him any time soon. Maybe the FEMA re-education facility could get her and Jake back on their feet. After all, their was no rent or mortgage, the food was free and a lot of her friends were taking advantage of it. Lana felt terror in her heart for her misguided sister. Maybe after her and Bob got settled they could find a way to get Amy and Jake out.

Jack Fowler had been a police officer for 14 years. He enjoyed wearing a uniform and thought it made him smarter and more aware. He heard the saying "..the uniform animates the man.." and didn't have a problem with it, it was true in his mind. Jack felt special and needed in the national nightmare everyone was going through. The Dept. of Homeland Security had been communicating with Jack for several weeks before the nuclear blast occurred. Their letters and emails implored Jack to join the department and help with domestic unrest and national challenges that might befall the United States of America. Mr Fowler eagerly filled out all the questionnaires and necessary forms to join the Dept of Homeland Security and keep Americans safe. He was duly recognized as a "Transistion Security Professional" , (TSP), to be utilized in times of national crises to help restore law and order in the nation. Jack eagerly answered 'yes' to the question. "Will you fire on American Citizens to keep order in the United States?"...He checked 'yes' to the question. "Will you confiscate firearms deemed as illegal from American Citizens?". Jack didn't even think about it, his response was automatic. Exactly what the department needed.

The first thing Jack had to do after signing up and being approved as a TSP agent was to get his medical and identification procedure completed. Jack arrived early to the scheduled procedure and eagerly offered up the inside of his left arm to keep America safe. He was given a laminated TSP officer badge with no name or identifying number. Jack thought good, no one needs to know who I am if I am saving their lives and keeping them safe. The department had a three day training that Jack was scheduled to attend over the weekend.  The training consisted of real life crowd scenarios with crises actors playing the part of American citizens. As part of a riot control group of fully outfitted TSP officers, Jacks job was to bullhorn the crises actors to "Move along or be detained" and "Do not resist, your activity could result in further police action." The part Jack really liked was the firing of fake tear gas canisters into the crowd and the blank rounds of what would be live ammunition into the crowds as they pressed forward. This really got Jacks blood going as well as the rest of the TSP trainees. He never felt more at home. Jack was working with the best of the best, the select few chosen to save the United States from the hoarding masses of rioting looters and criminals trying to subvert our national interest.  He befriended several other TSP trainees and they instantly formed a bond, knowing they are the true patriots needed to save the country and provide safety to survivors of the terrorist attack.  Jack's assignment paperwork was scheduled to arrive in 3- 5 days via Federal Express. He went home and doubled his workout routine while eagerly waiting the mail each day.

While driving to the local airport where his co-owned plane was hangered, he noticed all manner of malcontent on the roads and businesses he saw. Jim noticed what seemed like loose bands of roving gangs beginning to form and heightened police action in response to the out-breaking bedlam. He passed through several makeshift check points which required a full stop and a showing of Jim's license. Getting tto the hangar took twice as long and Jim felt things ramping up quickly.

Arriving at the hangar Jim noticed a flurry of activity.  He had never seen so many private planes  taking off and landing at the same time. The little airport was the busiest it had ever been. Jim inspected his plane, made sure everything was in order and re-fueled after letting it run for awhile. His flight plan to Belize was logged and he was scheduled to take off the next morning, early - to avoid some of the chaos he saw late in the afternoon. Rosalie would have to pack light, everythign they owned and deemed worthy of taking with them would have to fit into the small 4 seater aircraft.
The next morning came and the violence and discord in the street almost made it impossible to get to the airport. Jim and Rosalie saw the frst a checkpoints being erected. It was highly unusual and very stressful to see so many police, Dept of Homeland Security vehicles and general authoritarian personnel. It was unbelieveable, like something out of a movie. All airports in the country were slowly being converted to government controlled facilities and the airport where Jim's plane was hangered was no exception. At the airport, Jim saw evidence of the military “recycling” program at his airport.  In 2011, $500 million worth of military equipment was distributed to law enforcement agencies throughout the country. That number jumped to $546 million in 2012. Since 1990, $4.2 billion worth of equipment has been transferred from the Defense Department to domestic police agencies through the 1033 program, in addition to various other programs supposedly aimed at fighting the so-called War on Drugs and War on Terror. It was becoming abundantly clear that this buildup was to be used against American citizens. The Department of Homeland Security delivered roughly $34 billion to police departments throughout the country since 9/11, ostensibly to purchase more gear for their steady growing arsenals of military weapons and equipment. Police departments  also received grants for extensive surveillance systems in order to create microcosms of the extensive surveillance systems put in place by the federal government in the years since 9/11. Jim knew of all these recent developments yet always assumed it was to protect Americans from terrorism. He no longer felt that way. The Police and the Dept of Homeland Security were now playing the part of soldiers on the battlefield while the American citizen was seen as an enemy combatant.

Jim pulled back on the yoke of the small plane and finally took off. Banking to the south, Rosalie noticed huge concentrations of people and emergency vehicles everywhere. She was glad to be up and away from it all. Their route to Belize included a re-fueling stop in Naples Florida, then a Gulf of Mexico crossing. Jim’s financial advisor Dave was there and he would look him up as soon as he landed.

Arriving at their 10 acre ranch, Bob and Lana felt a major relief. The small house and double-wide trailer was slightly overgrown and needed some work but it was theirs and they were glad to be there. Since the entrance to their property was a half mile long dirt road, off a rural route, there was little chance of being bothered or checked up on any time soon. They both knew that eventually they would probably get a visit but they figured they had at least 6 months to a year to worry about it. Bob thought about blocking the entrance road to make it look like a dead end and cutting an alternate trail to the rural route.

It looked as though vandals had smashed a window but didn't enter the home. Probably local teenagers. Bob's solar panels were still in place and the pump worked. The small house had electricity however they knew it would only be a matter of a month or so before it became unreliable. Their solar configuration would provide only 8 kilowatts - about a third of what a normal house would need but Bob knew they would only use the solar power at night and for refrigeration. Luckily, it was an 'off grid' system with battery backup. Normally, solar power was tied to the grid and would not work during blackouts. The batteries were relatively new and with proper maintenance would most likely last for a few years before replacements would be necessary.

The garden was overgrown and in need of a lot of work. Lana surveyed it and almost got bit by a pygmy rattler. There were all kinds of seed packets in the house, everything from carrot and lettuce to peppers and squash. It was late Spring so a fall harvest was not out of the question. Food was an immediate priority. They brought about a month worth from their former home and needed to stock up as soon as possible from the local markets. Lana thought about using several of the nearest grocery and farmers markets to avoid unwanted attention buying large amounts of food at one time.

She was also aware of Codex Alimentarius in regards to the controlling of natural supplements and the way the federal government has used the Codex to enforce gardening restrictions.
The Codex Alimentarius Commission, established by FAO and  World Health Organization, (WHO),  in 1963 develops harmonized international food standards, guidelines and codes of practice to protect the health of the consumers and ensure fair practices in the food trade. The Commission also promotes coordination of all food standards work undertaken by international governmental and non-governmental organizations. Codex began simply enough when the U.N. authorized the World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization to develop a universal food code. Their purpose was to 'harmonize' regulations for dietary supplements worldwide and set international safety standards for the purposes of increased trade. Pharmaceutical interests stepped in and began exerting their influence. Instead of focusing on food safety, Codex is using its power to promote worldwide restrictions on vitamins and food supplements, severely limiting their availability and dosages.
This is to bring about international 'harmonization.' While global harmony sounds benign, is that the real purpose of this plan? While the stated goal of Codex is to establish unilateral regulations for dietary supplements in every country, the actual goal is to outlaw health products and information on vitamins and dietary supplements, except those under their direct control. These regulations would supersede United States domestic laws without the American people's voice or vote in the matter.  Codex Alimentarius has its way, then herbs, vitamins, minerals, homeopathic remedies, amino acids and other natural remedies you have taken for granted most of your life will be gone. The name of the game for Codex Alimentarius is to shift all remedies into the prescription category so they can be controlled exclusively by the medical monopoly and its bosses, the major pharmaceutical firms. Predictably, this scenario has been denied by both the Canadian Health Food Association and the Health Protection Branch of Canada (HPB).
The Codex Alimentarius proposals already exist as law in Norway and Germany where the entire health food industry has literally been taken over by the drug companies. In these countries, vitamin C above 200 mg is illegal as is vitamin E above 45 IU, vitamin B1 over 2.4 mg and so on. Shering-Plough, the Norway pharmaceutical giant, now controls an Echinacea tincture, which is being sold there as an over the counter drug at grossly inflated prices. The same is true of ginkgo and many other herbs, and only one government controlled pharmacy has the right to import supplements as medicines which they can sell to health food stores, convenience stores or pharmacies."
It is now a criminal offence in parts of Europe to sell herbs as foods. An agreement called EEC6565 equates selling herbs as foods to selling other illegal drugs. Action is being taken to accelerate other European countries into 'harmonization' as well.
CNN recently reported a story that seemed to justify the Codex by telling people that vitamins were no longer good for you and essentially did nothing for your health or well being.

Lana thought about a book she read years ago called "Guerillla Gardening" that essentially instructed one on how to hide plants amongst existing foilage from theives and aerial searches. Controlling the world through controlling the food has been a goal of governments across the globe and through the Codex and the oncoming federal tyranny the control was being ramped up considerably. Thinking further about raising the soon to be illegal tomatoes, zucchini and watermelon, Lana knew she would have to spread out the various vegetables and hide them under weeds, trees and other natural ground cover. She also knew that she had time to get everything in place, the drones were just beginning to go up and were more focused on urban centers and highways. It was late Spring so there was still plenty of time for a fall harvest. At least she had a plan.

Mr. Fowlers' assignment paperwork for his new Transition Security Specialist occupation arrived early Saturday morning. Jack eagerly tore open his credentialed letter from the Department of Homeland Security and never felt more accepted and needed in this time of our great nations tragedy. Now he could finally begin participating in getting this country back on track! His first assignment was to attend a FEMA re-education facility and become authorized to perform intake, living assignments and issue oriented tasks (IOT's) for newly arrived civilians. Jack learned that a 4.5% pay increase was given to those specializing in 'IOT's" and filled out the necessary forms to jump into IOT training upon his arrival. Maybe then he could finally start helping people get their minds right and  integrate them into the new structure of society. Mr Fowler looked forward to the restraint training, the baton workshop and advanced non lethal weapons usage. Jack always wanted to learn to use a taser and relished the thought of utilizing advanced interrogation techniques to keep his country safe.

Arriving at the FEMA re-education facility Jack felt at home and couldn't wait to begin his training. His first task was to have his arm scanned and to bio metrically identify himself through an iris scan. Next, was a general orientation meeting in the auditorium. There were over 300 trainees in the auditorium and weekly orientations were scheduled for the next 3 months. The orientation reviewed the recruits next six weeks of training while they lived on site in the facility. It was a regimented, 10 hour per day, six days per week program covering everything from intake to incarceration, family issues and daily routines of newly initiated civilians. Jack looked forward to dealing with the hard cases and the IOT's - those that just would not comply and didn't believe they should be there. He knew he would be able to prevail over them through the use of his newly acquired knowledge of tasers and restraint mechanisms. He would be their teacher and bring them around to proper thinking in our greatest national disaster. If he had to hurt them, then so be it, he was saving the country! If families needed to be separated, then that's what had to be done, Jack was the man for the job.

Jack's tenure at the re-education facility went by quickly. His Homeland Security Commanding Officer recognized Jack as an outstanding student and a quick learner in civilian restraint and Issue Oriented Training. Jack remarked to his new found friend Quincy, an ex security guard "...I can't believe we are in such a position to save this country form itself.." Quincy replied," ..yeah man, its frigin awesome, isn't it?" Both of them looked forward to restraining civilians and helping them get re-educated in the new world of post nuclear attack America.

Mr. Fowlers' first assignment would be at a DHS checkpoint on an interstate exit off I-4 in Orlando, Florida. His task was scheduled to be a 'night officer' , making sure that all vehicles were searched, all persons checked for arm scan identifiers and all travel destinations shown. Jack was credited for detainment's and referrals to re-education camps. He was given a list of things that if found on a civilian  would initiate a detainment. That was the favorite part of the job for Jack. Detaining people meant fixing what was wrong after the attack and making the world right. Papers not in order, missing arm tattoo's, belligerent attitudes or any 'sense' of something wrong could all result in a detainment action for Jack to take credit for. During his training at the FEMA re-education center, Jack participated in target practice on life sized cardboard cutouts of pregnant women and children holding firearms as well as senior citizens. He even saved an article he found in his local newspaper that said
"...The training scenarios, which are based on “real life events,” according to a report by KDRV, show police entering buildings and approaching vehicles with guns drawn in order to improve their range of motion and speed when using a firearm in sub-freezing winter conditions.
“Both building and traffic stop scenarios were among the exercises and officers said the training gives them valuable experience,” according to the report.
The footage shows officers aiming for the head of the cardboard target.
“We have to engage the suspect whether he has a weapon or not, we have to engage the suspect with our firearm at that point,” said Officer Mellgren.
At a time when police departments across the country are becoming increasingly militarized thanks to generous grants from the Department of Homeland Security, the notion of cops training to fire on Americans at routine traffic stops is extremely disconcerting.
While everyone expects police officers to perform target practice as a standard aspect of their job, the particular focus on outdoor scenarios and specifically traffic stops is sure to bolster the view that police are no longer being trained to protect and serve, but rather to engage a hostile enemy as if on a battlefield.
Traffic stops are increasingly cropping up in cases of police brutality where women are sexually assaulted by cops, including a recent incident where a 19-year-old girl was raped during a traffic stop by Officer Jackie Neal.
Last month, a series of chilling cases emerged out of New Mexico where victims pulled over at traffic stops were subsequently subjected to a horrifying series of anal probes, colonoscopies, and x-rays at the behest of police and doctors in the name of searching for drugs that were never found.
As we reported back in October, after a gang member shot and injured several law enforcement officials before going into hiding in a Sacramento suburb, police responded by setting up a checkpoint and aiming guns at innocent people’s heads, as the AP photo below illustrates. This type of news was what made Jack get up in the morning and give meaning to another day. He thought it was great that law and order were finally taking a stand.  Earlier this year it emerged that Law Enforcement Targets Inc. (LET), a Minneapolis based company that has received almost $2 million dollars in contracts from the Department of Homeland Security, provided “non-traditional threat” targets to police departments which included pictures of pregnant women and children.

Jack saw these article as people that were either hiding something or doing something wrong, after all, why else would they have been in the situation they were in? In Jack's mind, the cops and the authorities were almost always right, They were the trained professionals and knew how to handle these situations. How dare these civilians not comply with every demand asked of them by sworn officers of the law! How dare them! That alone, in Jacks mind was enough for detainment and interrogation, they should know better! Jack thought that there was nothing worse than a common civilian arguing the finer points of the law or the constitution which he was trained to uphold at any expense. Any behavior other than complete and total subservience to Mr Fowlers' authority would not be tolerated and he relished the idea of throwing these belligerent civilians into the re-education camps, for their own good. Jack befriended his night time partner at the security checkpoint, Delmar Gonzalez. Delmar felt exactly like Jack did and they both formed a mutual respect for each other. Delmar also trained in IOT's and was detaining and transferring as many unruly civilians as he could to their local re-education center. Typically, if Jack and Delmar had to interrogate anyone between three and five am, they were being detained and transferred, no questions, asked. Anyone out at that time of night probably needed to be re-educated and transferred to a FEMA facility as soon as possible. Maybe then they would learn that they had no business being out and about after three am in this time of our greatest national disaster. Jack got ready for his night shift with Delmar and headed to work. It was Friday night and he looked forward to a record number of detentions.

Leveling off the Cessna Turbo Skyline at 12,000 feet, Jim breathed a sigh of relief. The Skyline had a range of 1,360 nautical miles but Jim planned on refueling in Ft Myers, Fl before crossing the Gulf of Mexico to Belize. The stop would also allow Jim to give the plane a once over before their gulf crossing.  Jim was glad he had satellite driven graphical weather radar incorporated into the Skylines advanced avionics.   Seeing the weather as it changed provided an enormous relief to any unseen hazards. With a payload capacity of over a thousand pounds, Rosalie and Jack were able to bring all of their clothes and a good amount of memento's with them as they fled the growing unrest in their country.  As they flew over Disney World, Rosalie could see Space Mountain and Epcot Center. She heard that most amusement parks were shut down and some of them were being used as temporary government storage facilities. Mickey Mouse was under martial law. Oh well, at least she knew of life before all of this, something she doubted any child would ever get to know any time soon. Rosalie felt justified in this viewpoint after reading accounts incidents of Americans  being arrested for altogether legal activities such as picking their kids up from school, holding Bible studies at home, and selling goat cheese. The school incident actually happened in Tennessee, when Jim Howe, a father of two elementary school-aged kids, was arrested and jailed after insisting on walking his son home as soon as school let out rather than waiting 35 minutes for carpoolers to get their kids first. The government’s tendency towards militarization and over criminalization, in which routine, everyday behaviors become targets of regulation and prohibition was becoming more and more visible prior to the nuclear attack. In regards to children , Rosalie also knew that the system was transforming the schools into quasi-prisons and teaching young people that they have no rights. Zero tolerance policies were the new normal,  criminalizing childish behavior that continued to destroy the lives of young people such as the 14-year-old arrested for texting in class; the 6-year-olds suspended for using their fingers as imaginary guns in a schoolyard game of cops and robbers; the 12-year-old hauled out of school in handcuffs for doodling on her desk with an erasable marker; or the 17-year-old charged with a felony for keeping his tackle box in his car parked on school property, potentially derailing his chances of entering the Air Force.

Landing in Ft Myers proved to be no easy task. The flight traffic was heavy and Jim had to circle the airport five times before getting clearance to land. It seemed as though every other owner of private aircraft had they same idea - get as far away from the nightmare in the US as fast as possible. Upon landing, Jim immediately re-fueled and began his 52 point safety check of his aircraft. His flight plan was re-checked by airport authorities and he was told that he was lucky to be able to legally get out of the country. Jim's flight plan to Belize was filed one day before all international flight plans were taken over by the Department of Homeland Security resulting in no one being able to leave any time soon. Hearing this, Jim thought, smile and nod, keep your head down and your mouth shut - with a little bit of luck , he and his wife could escape the encroaching tyranny.

Amy's son Jake had always been a handful. Being a very inquisitive 12 year old, Jake was always getting into some kind of minor trouble at school or in the neighborhood. When Jake's father Leo went to jail two years ago, his inquisitive and rowdy nature seemed to ramp up considerably.  Jake's father regularly sent letters to Jake and his mother and tried to stay in touch the best he could. Jake's behavior seemed to get worse upon the receipt of each letter from his father.  A lot of it was garden variety pre-teen stuff, it was just hard to handle for Amy when she was desperately trying to hold down a full time job and raise Jake with very little support.  Her sister Lana helped out when she could and Bob was a father figure for him but their lives were equally hectic and driven. Amy's primary care physician recommended Ritalin and Aderol for Jake but Amy would have nothing to do with it. She knew that ,nationwide, class action suits have been filed alleging the manufacturers of Ritalin, the American Psychiatric Association, and CHADD have conspired to invent and promote the ADHD diagnosis in order to increase drug sales. Some of the lawyers involved in these suits worked on the 1998 tobacco industry settlement. She had seen how neighborhood kids were chemically lobotomized by these drugs and would never give them to Jake. Amy remembered giving up smoking cold turkey when she learned that tobacco companies were intentionally dosing cigarettes with an accelerator enzyme to get the nicotine in the bloodstream faster with a more pronounced effect. That was all she needed to put the damn things down for good.

The Discipline Reports from the facility in regards to Jake's behavior became a weekly occurrence. First, he was accused of pouring copious amounts of salt into a facilitators coffee then accusations came in about Jake locking facilitators out of re-education rooms. The facility was lenient at first, taking into account that most kids felt displaced and would act up for the first month or so however after the second incident of locking a facilitator out of a re-education classroom,  the warning letters became more stern. The latest warning letter stated that Jake would be removed from the general population and given a week long 'time out' within a separate wing in the facility dedicated to Issue Oriented Transition protocol. This scared Amy and she made sure Jake understood the consequences for further misbehavior. Jake wasn't stupid and reluctantly agreed to change his ways. He just couldn't understand why they could not leave the facility. What happened to their car, how come they couldn't just drive to the store or go to the beach anymore? Amy tried explaining to Jake that their situation was only temporary and that once she was able to complete her re-education training as a cosmetologist, they would be able to leave and start their lives over again. Jake wanted to believe his mom but something just didn't feel right about this place and how people were treated, like prisoners. They did have their own apartment and there were no more threats of not having a home or enough food to eat, so Jake decided to put up with it for now and attend his new school without the acting out - for now.
He looked forward to the next letter from his dad.

Bob's experience with solar power was limited. He was able to get the 8 kilowatt system several years ago with a now non existent rebate from the State of Florida. Back then, the State would pick up close to half of the cost of the system. The rebate quickly went away and there were thousands of consumers in the state that installed solar systems and never received it. Lawsuits flooded the Energy Management Department at the State capitol in Tallahassee and solar in Florida was all but officially dead. Even the energy management company that provided a way to measure and account for all of your homes energy, the ‘Sym Home Energy Management System’ was now defunct and moved out of the country.  The energy management system made a nice high tech paperweight.  Luckily, Bob received his rebate, reducing his initial investment from $15,000 to $8,200. He helped install his 8 kilowatt system on his and Lana's small house on their 10 acre property and paid very close attention to the inverter configuration and how the inverters were singly connected to each panel. He saved the layout spec's for the battery back up and eventually got everything re-checked and wired properly. The bank of 12 batteries was storing power effectively which was used during the night. The power provided to the battery backup  kept a refrigerator, a freezer , some lights and a television with an aerial antenna working throughout the night while the solar power captured during the day was used as it was made available.  Now that everything was up and running, Bob's next task was to clean the panels for maximum efficiency and trim some of the tree overgrowth near the house.  The well seemed to be in good working order and Bob made sure it was hooked up to his solar array, it was only a matter of time before the electricity was interrupted.  His next concern was blocking the main road to his property to make it look like a dead end. The road was compacted dirt and about twelve feet wide with heavy tree cover on each side. Bob thought about dragging the old non working tractor to block the road, then felling some trees to make sure it was impassable. The back entrance was an old wagon trail that was barely passable and led to another dirt road, then the highway.  Since the property was located on what was considered a 'rural route', Bob knew that he could easily move his mail box near the highway for the time being, then inform the post office that they no longer wish to receive mail service. This would have to be done through the mail to avoid the new Postmaster General Corps of mail snoops prying into your business and asking for arm scans. Less junk mail never hurt anyone. It was a lot of work but at least he had a plan of attack.

While cleaning the house and getting everything in order, Lana found a ham radio that Bob bought during a garage sale several years back. After buying it , Bob bought a couple of books on ham radio call signs and general lingo as well as a book entitled "The World of Shortwave Radio". It was one of those hobbies or interests that lasts 6 months or so then quietly goes away.  Bob's eyes lightened upon hearing of Lana's discovery and he rushed to hook up the transceiver to the makeshift aerial TV antenna. Since most of the internet was either down or taken over by government proxies, the radio was one of the last things left to communicate with others without being tracked, traced and controlled.  Bob knew that since every communication was digital now a days, the old fashioned ham and shortwave radio would be low on the list of governmental surveillance and concern.  Inside the shortwave radio book was an insert from the American Radio Relay League which included over 100 ham radio operators' call signs throughout the US , Canada and Latin America. Switching the radio on and announcing his call sign, Bob checked several well known frequencies for signs of life. Within a couple of minutes, Bob was speaking to someone in North Dakota. For the sake of safety, Bob indicated that he was calling from the Southeast and the fellow operator got the drift. Dale, from North Dakota told Bob that there was a very pronounced movement of foreign troops, mainly Russian, steadily flowing into the US via Canada. Bob read of this likelihood in an article last summer which stated, " June 25 press release issued by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense and Emergencies which said that, “The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and the USA Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are going to exchange experts during joint rescue operations in major disasters,” a deal that would include the “provision of security at mass events.” The dictionary definition of the word ‘provision’ is “the providing or supplying of something.” It went on to say, how Russian troops were invited to the US as part of a Fort Carson, Colorado drill focused around anti-terror training. Aside from learning how to target terrorists in America, the Russian soldiers were also told to go out and mingle with the local community by attending a baseball game in Colorado Springs." The article also stated "...The Department of Defense subsequently confirmed that 20 Russian Spetsnaz troops were set to train on US soil for a period of three weeks as part of a “formal bilateral exchange program between the U.S. and Russia.” Images of Russian troops working with US soldiers at Fort Carson can be seen above.

The process of acclimatizing Americans to accept the presence of foreign troops on US soil has been ongoing since the release of State Department Publication 7277, which is a blueprint for the harmonization of US and Russian forces under a United Nations framework..." Dale from Dakota also told Bob that the little town that he lived in was booming from the sustained movement of troops throough it. Hotels, restaurants and other service industries all seemed to benefit, so no one was asking questions, they were just glad to get some financial relief in a devastated economy. The article concluded with "...Exercises involving foreign troops on US soil have become commonplace over the last 20 years as Americans become increasing acclimatized to seeing international forces prepared for involvement in domestic security operations, largely ignorant of the fact that this is a violation of the Posse Comitatus Act." Dale asked Bob about how things were going in the Southeast and Bob told him that it was a run for your life scenario- if you didn't want to report to a FEMA re-education facility. Dale confirmed that it was the same in North Dakota however a lot of people were going along with the arm tattoos and bio metric identifiers to be able to participate in the newly found economic blessings afforded them through the foreign troops movement. Bob signed out and wished Dale luck, promising to stay in touch with him, Dale did the same.

Reflecting on the conversation with Dale, Lana said to Bob, “ That’s the only way they will be able to pull this off.  By using foreign troops. A lot of well meaning low IQ Americans will go along but ultimately they will need outside powers to accomplish the detainment of two thirds of the population and most likely the extinction of them.”  Bob agreed and was glad they took the actions they did.

Delmar Gonzalez was known to have a very short temper. He was written up on two separate occasions during his tenure with Dunbar Armored, his former employer. Delmars first offense centered around his over zealous response the ringing alarm bell of a deli next to one of the banks on his route. Mr Gonzalez, according to the report "..exhibited a life or death response in regard to the audio disturbance of the Weisowitz Deli, adjacent to the First Union Bank, a customer of Dunbar Armored. Mr Gonzalez then proceeded to initiate a lockdown procedure for the bank and then threw an innocent customer, Jason Beltz,  to the ground in a jujitsu like maneuver that resulted in Mr Beltz's shoulder being dislocated... the report further stated,"...Mr Gonzalez then drew his weapon and motioned for everyone in the bank to "freeze" and fired a warning shot into the banks ceiling..." After learning of his mistake, Delmar simply shouted "..as you were!!", to the employees in the bank and walked out as though nothing happened.  Delmar reacted so swiftly that his partner had no time to stop him.  Prior to this, Mr Gonzalez was seen loudly arguing with several Occupy Wall Street protesters about the Federal Reserve and got into a pushing match with one of them. No formal report was filed however it was noted by the Shift Captain in the daily log. .  This caused Delmar to begin weekly meetings with the company psychologist. The psychologist recommended Delmar begin taking the anti-depressant Wellbutrin.  He was told told to not stop taking it because there was a risk for suicidal behavior if one suddenly stopped the regimen. He also could not drink while taking Wellbutrin, if he did, it would amplify his depressed feelings and make him a danger to society and himself. Delmar complied and began his new daily medication immediately.  It would be tough though because Delmar liked to drink on the weekends. Maybe if he just cut his drinking in half, he would be OK. Delmar was on thin ice with Dunbar and gladly embraced his new role of Transition Security Professional with FEMA

Jack and Delmars shift was a an active one. It was a Saturday night and they saw a lot of general stupidity, drunkenness and fear. There were a lot of families making their way to destinations that Jack and Delmar though might not be their homes and this further incited their rage. "These people need to be going straight home", replied Jack, not to their vacation home or their aunts or grandmothers' house." Delmar agreed and looked forward to interrogating the next pack of wayward civilians. Their chance came quickly. During the next stop, Jack and Delmar observed a long haired man with his girlfriend or wife with an infant child. The man had an authoritative air about him and told Delmar that he was in a hurry, did not yet have his arm tattoo and just needed to get through the checkpoint. Jack ordered the man out of the car along with his wife. The civilian pulled out a pocket constitution and began reciting the Bill of Rights to Jack and Delmar. This angered them greatly and Delmar gave a silent nod to Jack which meant lets detain these civilians and get them off to a Re-Education Center. As Delmar began the process of searching, then handcuffing the man and his wife, the man reached around Delmar, tangled his arms in a painful upward position and side kicked the back of his left shin, painfully stretching his arms , sending him tumbling to the ground. Jack reacted with a roundhouse punch that the man stepped into, turned sideways and threw Jack over his hip, coming down on top of him with an elbow to his face. As Delmar recovered and lunged at the man, he received a quick rabbit punch to the face, then a throat punch and a kick in the groin. "Get in the car!" shouted the main at his wife and they were gone as Jack and Delmar scrambled to their feet and radioed in an escaping terrorist to the department. Jack squeezed off two rounds from his service revolver and saw the back window of the fleeing terrorists car explode.

The incident was recorded with the department and Jack and Delmar were put on Special Watch, contingent on the outcome of the investigation. This angered both of them greatly and they were more determined than ever to begin enforcing the new laws with renewed vigor. The Special Watch designation came with mandatory hourly radio checks,  status reports and additional shift reports required during and after their watch. Delmar blamed Jack for not being able to have seen it coming and Jack blamed Delmar and his hangover for letting that hippy bastard terrorist get over on him like that. They both vowed it would never happen again. Delmar stopped at Kirks, a local bar on the way home and met two female FEMA employees that bought him drinks that night. They praised him for his service and gave him the false confidence he needed.

Leonard Johansen was serving a five year term for Grand Theft Auto. With good behavior, which Leo had, he could be out in two and a half or three, depending on the population capacity at Florida State Prison in Raiford, just outside of Starke, Fl. His job in the commissary helped pass the time, along with reading about the New World Order and the banking elite, which Leo believed, was responsible for the nations newest tragedy. He looked forward to the letters from his son, Jake and his wife Amy. She had all but given up on Leo and he couldn't blame her. The car theft wasn't his idea, he was just along for the ride however with his prior offenses of felony DUI and possession of cocaine, the judge basically threw the book at him. At least he'd be out soon, six months to a year and he'd be free to start his life over again. He knew it was a different world out there and work would be hard to find so Leo signed up for the Pre Release Homeland Work Brigade Program. The brigade promised 8-12 hours of day of work on the nations highways to help install guard rails, re-pave roads and general highway maintenance type work. It payed $2.25 per hour and was one of the highest paying prison jobs in the country. Leo thought that with the recent currency devaluation because of the crashing petro-dollar, it was more like $1.50. Anything to get him out of this stinking prison cell.  Leo attended a mandatory 20 hour re-integration class in how to behave on the work crew. Basically, what will get you shot and what will not, Leo thought.  Another waste of tax payers dollars to 'educate' us on how to be better prisoners. At least Florida wasn't as bad as that psychopath sheriff Joe Arapiho in Arizona - making all inmartes wear pink, eat baloney sandwiches and live in outdoor tents. Leo thought if that was the case, he's probably end up doing the whole five years for refusing to be humiliated like that.

Leo signed off and initialed all the release from liability statements in the Homeland Work Brigade Re-Integration for Detained Individuals packet. God help the State if a prisoners rights or safety was violated, they can die, just don't sue. The jealusy and hostile bahaviors of the other inmates toward Leo made him smile inwardly. "Screw you".. Leo thought, "I'm gettin outta here con-vict"!  A couple of years inside hardened you and gave Leo that "thousand yard stare" they said McVeigh had just prior to being executed for the Oklahoma City Bombings. Being overly protective of food during a meal also gave away your status as an ex-con. Leo knew this and swore he would not behave like that when he got out.

Leo’ s first day as an inmate employee of the Dept of Homeland Security began as most days inside do. The rush to get up and get to the cafeteria was no different. After ‘chow’ Leo and 20 other inmates name were loudly called to get in line and begin the boarding the bus to go work on the nations highways. It was refreshing to be outside and Leo drank in every minute of it. The inmates were split into four workgroups of five each, supervised by two guards with tactical shotguns and sidearms.  There were two primary guards supervising the whole show.  Almost as many guards as prisoners.  Leo didn’t figure on an escape plan, he was too close to getting out but the thought was always on his mind. The work was hard but just being outside working made it worthwhile. At least he wasn’t on a chain gang, which would be true misery. Leo thought of his son and soon to be ex-wife , Amy, voluntarily entering a FEMA Re-Education facility and thought that they were not much better off than he was. “What a stupid frigin thing to do”, he thought. “What the hell’s wrong with that woman?” He would move heaven and earth if he could to get them out of there. Leo knew the drill in regards to being a ‘guest’ of the state – and knew that none of it was any good, even if they were dressing it up and calling it a ‘Re-Education facility. “…The bastards, they just keep pushing people till they lose it, then lock ‘em up.” Leo thought. The first thing he would do when he got out was to get his son and Amy out of there, no matter what.

Taking off from Ft Myers, aircraft B2389, climbed to 12,500 feet and leveled off, following the prescribed vector over the Gulf of Mexico to the country of Belize. Jim was only legally authorized to fly during daylight hours over the water, hence the early start. He was about three quarters of the way through his instrumentation rating, the "IFR", (Instrument Flight Rules) and felt confident to do it but didn't want to risk his and his wife's lives over the Gulf of Mexico. VFR, (Visual Flight Rules), to Belize and landing right before Sunset would have to work.

The Cessna Skyline performed perfectly for the first half of the flight. Turning toward a more southerly direction and crossing in between Cuba and Cancun, Jim noticed a slight hesitation in the plane's engine and adjusted the fuel mixture accordingly. Maybe it was the altitude, so Jim descended to 7,500 feet and a more oxygen rich environment. This seemed to help at first but the problem got steadily worse. It had to be a fuel issue, the engine was doing fine, just not receiving the proper fuel mixture at the right time. He thought back to last year when Jim and his brother-in-law got back from a short flight to the Atlantic coast for the day to play golf and remembered his brother-in -law replacing a small intake valve on the fuel line. He wasn't able to get a Cessna part so he went with an aftermarket substitute that was rated '..the same as Cessna Manufactured parts - guaranteed..' The Original Equipment Manufactured parts were trusted and used regularly for these types of occurrences. Warranties and guarantees meant nothing in times like these. Just then, the engine shut down entirely and Jim went into an automatic drill that had been ingrained in his mind during his flight instruction. The Cessna's engine sputtered back to life and Jim adjusted his decent expecting the worst. He wasn't able to regain the planes attitude however had enough intermittent power to glide safely toward what could only end up as a water landing. Thinking back to his safety courses, Jim knew that there were ways to land on water that were more preferable than others. Jim yelled into the radio, "MAYDAY-MAYDAY-MAYDAY- and announced the latitude and longitude of his position three times before impact. Looking for the direction of the swells Jim needed to ditch the aircraft in the general direction of the swells and near the top of one, not the bottom.  Approaching the top of a six foot swell, Jim cut the power and dropped onto the top of the wave. This slowed the aircraft considerably as the Cessna bounced of the top of the next wave tail first and hit the water mid way through the next swell in a belly up position. The dramatic reduction in speed was akin to a crash landing on the ground. Jim was able to keep the plane upright as it sloshed to a stop. The blur of activity had Jim making sure Rosalie was OK, unbuckling both of their seat belts and retrieving the four man inflatable, enclosed life raft. Rosalie was in shock and Jim had to force eye contact with her and raise his voice to get her to respond. The octagon shaped life raft blew up immediately with a muffled explosion and they tumbled into it from the top of the sinking planes wing. The raft had a plastic cover and a radio beacon that immediately fired when the raft inflated. It sent out an international distress signal that would be recognized anywhere in the world.  The radio beacon and the MAYDAY announcement should have been enough to notify either Mexican or Cuban authorities of their situation, Jim hoped.

The survival raft was like a reinforced tent on the water. They both stayed dry as the Cessna sank. Jim and Rosalie watched the plane in utter disbelief, this seemed more like a bad dream than reality. The raft had 8 chocolate bars, 4 liters of water, 5 flares, a Swiss Army knife and a small fishing kit. It wasn't equipped for prolonged stays. The radio beacon had a flashing light on it which provided psychological comfort that it was working and that somebody, somewhere was receiving the signal and taking action. The waves were dropping and hurling the life raft four to six feet up and down on a regular basis. Rosalie threw up and was officially seasick after 20 minutes. Jim made her drink half a liter of water and told her to stare at the horizon which seemed to alleviate her misery but was hard to do with all the up and down motion of the raft.  Rosalies' sickness took her mind off the sheer terror of a crash landing in the open ocean and her new found life raft home somewhere between Cuba and Mexico. Jim was on auto pilot and operating on a pure commando survival mode. He knew that there would be no help for at least a day or two - if they were lucky - which meant a night or two or three in the open water. He did not mention this to Rosalie who had her own issues to deal with. No need making them worse.

That night, the sea calmed and it was a welcome break to the all out adrenaline, endorphin rush of the last eight hours. Rosalie passed out and Jim was glad she was at least getting some sleep. He tried to sleep but couldn't, the best he could do was to close his eyes and remain still, conserving as much energy as he could for the terrifying ordeal they were going through. Jim knew that their rescue would come from either Cuban or Mexican authorities. He didn't know which one would be worse however he knew that Mexico had a deportation agreement with the US and Cuba did not. Hoping for the Cuban government to rescue you at sea was one of the last things Jim thought he would ever have to contemplate. Rosalie awoke screaming in the middle of the night and Jim hugged her to calm her down. She was borderline hysterical and could not process the ordeal they both had recently been through.  Jim reassured her the best he could and layed out the procedures that were followed and the response that would occur, should occur, especially since they were relatively close to both Cuba and Mexico. It could have been worse, they could have been no where near land in which case survival odds go down considerably, this fact he shared with Rosalie and it provided enough comfort for her to get out of a complete panic and be able to breathe again.

The next morning, Jim and Rosalie were awakened to a Cuban Military Patrol Boat announcing their presence through a bullhorn in Spanish and English. They were ordered to raise there arms and prepare to be taken aboard the vessel. The Cuban officers aboard the patrol boat had their mounted .50 Caliber pointed directly at the tiny life raft as though the occupants might pose some type of threat to them. The American couple felt like they were being arrested as smugglers on the high seas. Boarding the patrol boat, the officers provided them with water and a clip board to begin filling out visa applications as well as an aircraft crash report. Looking at each other aboard the Cuban vessel, Mr and Mrs Denson were glad to be alive and headed toward dry land.

Delmar Gonzalez was in rare form during his night shift with Jack Fowler. Delmar initiated five detainment's and transfers within the first hour and a half of his shift. Jack thought that he was making up for being bested by that hippy terrorist bastard that got the better of him last week. Jack noticed the faint smell of alcohol on Delmars breath and asked him if he was drinking during his shift. Delmar replied "...yeah, just a little before I came in to settle my nerves..." Jack responded "..you know Delmar, that's a violation of our service code, you could be suspended for that." Delmar replied " ..just mind your own business Jacky -boy and we'll get along just fine. You wanna get some more of these civilians re-educated or sit around like a bunch of little old ladies gossiping..?" This angered Jack and he also ramped up his enforcement methods. Jack detained the next group of wayward civilians and sprained the wrist of one of them as he handcuffed and detained him. Jack and Delmar were on a mission to detain and transfer as many wandering civilians as possible. They became competitive with each trying to best the other with general meanness and aggression toward the unlucky civilians. The pickup vehicle assigned to Jack and Delmar's unit was running all night as they continued their detainment's and assignments to the local re-education center. They became competitive with each trying to best the other with general meanness and aggression toward the unlucky civilians.

The introduction of the LRAD, Long Range Acoustical Device), to Jack and Delmars' unit was like a new toy under the Christmas tree for them.  During their brief training at FEMA Region IV, they learned how to operate it. The device was able to send a targeted sound beam to force people to their knees, make them sick and generally immobilize anyone in its path. Delmar couldn't wait to try it out. During their shift that evening they did.
